DRAGON NEST: MACHINA SKILL INTRODUCTION


Machina is released in Dragon Nest KR on 17th June 2015.  Machina is a pure physical attack melee class; STR and AGI stats increase her attack power. The 1st job advance is called Patrona, while the 2nd job advances branches to the offensive Ruina and the defensive Defensio.

The main weapon for Machina is steam-powered Knuckle Gear and Claw.  The characteristic for Machina is face-paced action combat, and requires high degree of skill to control it.  Machina can combine the various movement skills and steam (generated from her Knuckle Gear) to generate complicated combo.

The following brief descriptions on Machina’s skills are translated from the developer’s note on the official site. Detailed skill descriptions and data will be updated soon.

<1> Normal Attack

The mechanics for Machina’s normal attack is totally different from other classes.
1. Although the attack AOE is very small, the damage is very high
Machina’s “Normal attack” has very small AOE and thus requires more delicate control. However, the damage is twice as high as other classes.
2. Normal attack can be combo-chained after skills
After casting other skills, press “Normal attack” button to chain normal attack in the most natural way.  Using normal attack in this manner will inherit the high damage from the previous skill.
Use “Charging Gear” and “Over Charging” to enchance Normal Attack
- After learning Charging Gear, Machina can perform a charging attack at the 5th hit of Normal Attack.
- Although the charging time with Charging Gear is longer, it can deal massive damage to the enemies.
- Upon job change to Ruina at level 45, Over Charging can be learned. The combo of Main DPS Skills > Normal Attack > Over Charging can deal extremely high damage, at the expense of long charging time.
- Machina’s normal attack is very different from other classes; it can be considered as an extension to other skills. It will allow players to form long combo chain between normal attack and other skills.

<2> Fly By

Fly By is the basic movement skill for Machina. It is also the core skills for Lv1-15. It can be activated by Tumbling + Jump. To exploit the mobility of Machina,  one have to master the combo involving Fly By.
Rocket Charging: Fly By > Normal Attack
- after breaking and landing, charge up for the next jump
- if you release the normal attack after charging up, Fly By CD will be reset and can be used to jump again.
- in other words, after learning Rocket Charging, Machina can use Fly By without CD.
Overlap Graze : passive effect; when Fly By hit enemies for 3 times, increase your own attack and defence.
- Fly By can be use infinitely with the CD reset effect of Rocket Charging.
- After learning Overlap Graze, Fly By will not just function as a movement skill, but also a skill which grants buff effect. Using Fly By continuously increases the damage output of Machina.
Lariat: Fly By > Special attack button
- Machina use the Knuckle Gear to push enemies and gather them together.
- Lariat is the skill with the highest super armor break and highest damage below Lv15.
- Lariat is actually an independent skill and can be cast separately, but the damage is doubled when it is cast in combo with Fly By.
